    Worland's Aubree Kruger, 17, won the title of Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2023 earlier this summer, selected by a panel of judges. This was Kruger's second year participating in pageants.     There were seven write-in nominations from Tuesday’s primary election with five indicating they will accept the nominations and run for seats in Ward 1 and Ward 2. Heading into the Aug. 20 primary election, no one filed to be on the ballot for the four-year Ward 1 seat. There was a total vote of 49 write-in votes cast, but only two qualified candidates — Bill Glanz and Jeff Pomeroy. Both have accepted the nomination. Bill Glanz received 14 votes, Pomeroy 4 votes.     Challenger Tom Schmeltzer of Worland defeated incumbent Aaron Anderson of Ten Sleep by 561 votes in the race for the four-year Washakie County Commissioner position during Tuesday's primary election.   • County's election machine retest deemed successful

    A retest of Washakie County's DS200 tabulating machines last Friday, Aug. 16, was completed with results meeting all Wyoming state statutes. On Aug. 12, Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray called for a re-test of the DS200 election testing machines in counties that had errors in not meeting specific state statute.
