    Tesia Galvan, Staff Writer|Feb 6, 2016

WORLAND - Two dollars an hour turned into a near 45-year career for one City of Worland employee, granted there were a few raises along the way. Last Friday Gary Gerber retired from the Department of Public Works as the co-supervisor of Water and Sewer. Gerber was two months shy of making 45 years on the job. As a supervisor, Gerber said his main responsibilities were supervising the crew on water and sewer projects. Water and sewer projects include water repair, water breaks, and sewer lines...

WORLAND — Sen. Gerald Geis (R-Worland) heads down today for this 35th and final Wyoming Legislative Session. The local state senator announced earlier this year that he will not seek re-election to Senate District 20 seat. His final session could be one of the more interesting sessions with the Legislature looking a tight budget where the Joint Appropriations Committee has trimmed 1.5 percent for the biennium budget. This point-guard duel will not only be the best in the MW this season, but one of the best in the country. Nakkasoglu leads the conference in scoring (21.0 ppg) and free-throw shooting (84.5 percent) and is fo...

    Feb 6, 2016

MARIETTA, Ohio (AP) — A recently retired Ohio police officer has been allowed to buy his K-9 partner for $1. Officials in Marietta had created a social-media stir when they said Matt Hickey's police dog, Ajax, had to be sold at auction because it was city property and could still work. Hickey and Ajax worked together for three years, and the dog lived with him. Hickey was allowed to buy Ajax from the city on Thursday. Earlier this week, the city had said it would allow Hickey to keep the dog if Hickey continued to work for the police d...
