    Karla Pomeroy, Editor|Dec 3, 2016

First it was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday. If you missed Giving Tuesday there’s still time and plenty of places to give. The end of the year and Christmas time is when you see a lot of giving, whether it’s from the feeling of love and charity or wanting that tax deduction before the year’s end. Many national organizations are calling and sending out their flyers to get people to give this time of year. I would encourage our readers that if you want to give, give at home first. Just like I encouraged you to shop local...

  • Hear me out...A change in the football winds at UW

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Dec 3, 2016

I have lived in Wyoming for 20 of my 29 years on this rock and in that time I've never really bought a stake in the University of Wyoming fan hood. I'll root for them to be successful or cheer on their players in the pro ranks, like Larry Nance of the Los Angeles Lakers. Yet for some reason I just haven't had the emotional investment in their success or failure. My lack of emotional investment could be tied to a theme of "all of this has happened before and all of this will happen again" in all...

"My husband died and I was sitting around doing nothing but eating and getting fat and thought that I need to do better than this and then I realized that I have a few options and I've always wanted to do art but I've never ha...

  • Traces of benzene found in Jackson drinking water well

    Dec 3, 2016

JACKSON (AP) — Environmental officials have found traces of a volatile organic compound in a well that supplies drinking water to the town of Jackson. The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports that a sample from a well in July showed benzene, a component of petroleum, at more than three times the level that triggers monitoring by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA didn’t notify the town of the presence of benzene until Tuesday. The EPA says regular consumption of water with high benzene levels can cause anemia and increase the ris...
