NEW YORK (AP) — Investors saw some new hints that inflation is increasing on Wednesday, but they still sent banks, technology firms, and consumer-focused companies climbing. That was a big change after the market’s inflation-inspired plunge earlier this month. After a shaky start, stocks rose for the fourth straight day, and banks made some of the largest gains as bond yields reached new four-year highs. The move in yields came after the government said consumer prices climbed in January a slightly faster pace than economists had expected. A d...
CHEYENNE — Domestic violence advocates achieved a small victory in an ongoing effort to strengthen Wyoming’s stalking laws, following a similar measure’s failure in the Legislature last year. WORLAND - The biggest challenge for agriculture producers used to be that no one knew where food came from. Today, the challenge is now people don't have the right information. That message came out loud and strong during Trent Loos' presentation to open 2018 WESTI (Wyoming Extension's Strategically and Technologically Informative) Ag Days at the Worland Community Center Complex Wednesday morning. Been too long since visited Wyoming. Very exhilarating, abundant of resources and people willing to...
WORLAND – Tuesday evening the future of the “Gift of the Waters” pageant was discussed at a town meeting held in the Thermopolis Big Horn Federal meeting room. Twenty-two people attended and no conclusion was reached as to the fate of the pageant. “Gift of the Waters” pageant committee treasurer Barb Vietti stated that in the past the pageant has had a lot of support from the community with volunteers and donations but the last couple years that support has dwindled drastically. Last year if the committee hadn’t had a little money on reserve...
