Inspired by Cheyenne Frontier Day’s Pick Up Man movement, mental health awareness events have made their way to the Big Horn Basin, including Worland. Hoping to spread the message and end the stigma of talking about mental health, a team of Worland residents are putting together a mental fitness fair. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16 at the Worland Community Center and will include a free lunch sponsored by Range. Garret Immesoete passed away on February 6, 2024 from pulmonary amyloidosis at St Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana, surrounded by his family. Garret was thrust upon the world on November 16, 1945 in Lusk Wyoming. He was born to William and Hellen (Renz) Immesoete of Van Tassel Wyoming. Lyn Douglas Steichen, 56, passed away on February 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with adenoid carcinoma. Lyn was diagnosed in December 2023 and given only 2 weeks to live. His story wasn't finished though, he fought for two months, and was able to enjoy the holiday season and New Year with his loving wife. CHEYENNE — One man is dead after a shooting that took place around 2 p.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of Dunn Avenue. The Cheyenne Police Department said in a Facebook post that investigators believe two male shooters were involved in the incident. “Both sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital,” an update to the post said.
