Carl Ernest Schweighart, 95, passed away on February 13, 2022 at his home in Worland with family by his side. Carl was born on September 27, 1926 at the Schweighart Homestead at Cottonwood Creek outside of Worland, WY. Carl was one of 11 children born to Charles and Wilhelmina Schweighart. A few weeks ago I wrote about our adoption of Roscoe, a mixed breed pup we adopted from New Hope Humane Society. Roscoe is the first dog we adopted from New Hope but the fifth animal. WORLAND – For more than 15 years, the Worland Senior Center has been an AARP Foundation tax-aide site and this year is no exception with the free tax-return service starting Feb. 7 and continuing until April 13. WORLAND – Ann and Don Day of Worland will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 19. The two first met when they lived in Casper. Ann Day was working at the Casper Commentary, when Don Day’s parents stopped in to buy a coat. “They told me to go check her out,” Don said. Ann and Don were married five months later in Casper. LARAMIE — Wyoming state lawmakers spent much of Friday finalizing a redistricting plan to send to the full Legislature that includes 62 representatives and 31 senators.
