    Sisco Molina, Sports Editor|Mar 12, 2016

CASPER – Entering the second day of the Class 3A Wyoming High School State Girls Basketball Championships, Worland found itself just one game away from the playing in the state title game. The only thing standing in its way was Rawlins. Though it was one of the toughest tests of the season thus far, the Lady Warriors were not to be denied as they defeated the Lady Outlaws 57-49 on Friday at Casper College. And now – for the second time in three years – they're right where they expected to be al...

  • Karla's Kolumn The crazy, mad world of politics

    Karla Pomeroy, Editor|Mar 12, 2016

There’s a movie title from 1963, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” The movie didn’t have anything to do with politics or today’s society, but it’s a perfect title for the world we live in. The title of the movie refers to craziness more than anger but in today’s world the title is applicable in both references. It’s a crazy world we live in, as I’ve written before, when you discuss the ways in which the two main political parties select their nominees for president. Every state has a different system, not everyone gets to vote, not everyone...

Devon Energy jumped 11 percent and Southwestern Energy gained 10 percent. Just a month ago, investors were dumping shares amid talk of a possible U.S. recession. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell to almost a two...

  • Broncos acquire QB Sanchez from Eagles

    Mar 12, 2016

DENVER (AP) — Mark Sanchez is getting a change of scenery and a new job description: replacing Peyton Manning. Instead of being buried deep on Philadelphia’s depth chart, the veteran quarterback has a chance to lead Denver’s defense of its Super Bowl title. He proved early in his career that he can take a team with a great defense on a deep playoff run and he’ll be asked to do the same in Denver if he emerges as the starter. The Broncos acquired the seven-year veteran from the Eagles on Friday, a move Denver general manager John Elway calls t...
