Memorial grave side services for Donovan “Don” Sorrick, 68, will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Valley View Cemetery with Pastor Jon Norwood officiating. Military honors will be by the US Navy. Don died March 14, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home. WORLAND — Worland High School Speech and Debate brought home second place for 3A schools at the state meet in Green River last weekend behind Riverton. Coach Rick Dorn said, “Riverton really brought in some talent in the interp areas. We knew they’d be strong. We didn’t know they were going to be that strong. We had some interp competitors who had some unfriendly judges bounce their way. WORLAND - The documentary “The Mask You Live In” follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity. The film was written, produced and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2015. WORLAND – Every year during the months of March and April the Worland High School Student Council raises funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help make a child’s wish come true. “We have raised around $1,500 each year for the last two years,” Worland High School student council advisor Christy Vickers said. WORLAND — The National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch for the South Big Horn Basin including Worland from noon through 7 p.m. Saturday. The watch is in effect for gusty southwest winds and low relative humidity. According to the NWS, increasingly dry and windy conditions Saturday ahead of an approaching weather system may cause fire danger to rise into the extreme for a few hours Saturday afternoon and evening.
