And what a weekend it was … an historical weekend. The Worland Lady Warriors basketball team won the first ever girls basketball state championship for the school. A job well done in a hard-fought state title game. The Warriors, just hours before, won the school’s third boys basketball state championship, the fir...

    Mar 19, 2016

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Reality hit Middle Tennessee State guard Jaqawn Raymond as he walked triumphantly off the floor. Giddy Potts thought it might come later, once he returned to the team hotel and flipped on the TV. It sunk in immediately for Michigan State. Relying on the same balanced scoring that carried them to the NCAA Tournament, the No. 15 seed Blue Raiders ended the second-seeded Spartans’ title hopes in convincing fashion Friday. They never trailed in a 90-81 first-round victory that sent brackets around the country into trash cans. “We...

    Mar 19, 2016

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — A swarm of bees has taken over the flag stand at Fontana, forcing NASCAR to improvise before the start of qualifying. The starter is using a temporary platform on the fan side of the fence to start the Sprint Cup Series qualifying laps Friday, track officials say. Track officials dispensed with most of the bees with a non-lethal spray, but a few angry ones hung around. Although the red light on top of the flag stand is still functional, nobody wanted to wave a green flag in the remaining bees’ faces. NASCAR officials tol...
