  • Firearm bills move through State Senate

    CHEYENNE — The State Senate has moved forward on two pieces of firearms legislation. Sen. Ed Cooper (R-Ten Sleep) said Saturday in his weekly report that the Senate Judiciary Committee passed Senate File 81 – Second Amendment Preservation Act unanimously. The bill would invalidate certain federal laws that limit the right to bear arms.     WORLAND — The Worland Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission postponed action on a variance request from Veile Mortuary to construct a crematory next to the funeral home at 301 South Eighth. A public hearing was held during the board’s regular meeting Monday at city hall.   • Site plan for new Sunlight FCU building approved

    WORLAND — The Worland Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission approved the site plan for the new Sunlight Federal Credit Union facility to be constructed at 1800 Big Horn Avenue. The current facility is located at 1429 Big Horn Avenue on a 14,517 square foot lot. The facility is 2,484 square feet. The new location has 30,000 square feet with the building set to be 4,785 square feet.     Tim Allison, 76 passed away in Powell Valley HealthCare Center on March 19, 2021. Tim was born April 20, 1945 to Rex and Erma Allison. He graduated from Manderson Hyattville High School in 1963 and the University of Wyoming with a degree in Engineering in 1970. He served in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 1st Infantry Division and was deployed to Vietnam from 1967 until 1968. His military decorations include the Bronze Star.     Rodney Lee Delker was born on July 25, 1953 in Worland, Wyoming to Leeland and Kathleen (Tuttle) Delker. He passed away March 19, 2021 at the age of 67. Rod was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Worland. He graduated from WHS in 1971 and then farmed with his family until 1992.
