    WORLAND - Now that the worst of winter is behind us, Worland's Karsten Simmons is back out on the golf course, and competed in his first tournament of 2018. As part of the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour, Simmons traveled to Gilbert, Arizona, to play in the Kokopelli Classic at the Kokopelli Golf Club on March 17-18.     WORLAND – A tradition for most families on Easter is to partake in a local egg hunt and this year there are three local Easter egg hunts. The first one is on Saturday at the Worland Aquatic Center. The center holds the hunt at 1 p.m. for children ages 3 to 13. The event is free to the public, children and adults.     WORLAND — Worland set a precipitation record with the rain and snow that fell in the area on Wednesday. According to climate data from the National Weather Service, Worland, at the municipal airport, received .42 inches of moisture on Wednesday, breaking the old record of .35 set in 1962. For the month, Worland has received .63 inches of moisture, up from the average of .41. The climate record is from 1947 to 2018.     RIVERTON (WNE) — The Maverik convenience store on South Federal Boulevard in Riverton was the target of another strong-arm robbery early Wednesday morning, March 28. Police responded at about 3 a.m. Wednesday to reports that a subject had “jumped over” the counter at the store and “started beating the clerk.” Officials said the employee suffered minor injuries in the incident, and the suspect left the scene with three bottles of alcohol.     WORLAND — Four Worland High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members qualified for the national convention during state competition last week.
