  • Offensive prowess continues

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Apr 2, 2016

WORLAND- The Worland High School girls soccer team defended home turf once again, while also putting on another offensive display as they defeated Cody 5-3 Friday afternoon. Unlike the 6-0 win against Lander last week, the Lady Warriors were in a fight from start to finish. The Lady Fillies were the first to score with a goal by Hannah Bailey in the 19th minute. After that goal the Lady Warriors seemed to take it personal as they would score the matches next three goals. Casey Wassum in the...

  • Karla's Kolumn TV news strives for sensationalism, not accuracy

    Apr 2, 2016

I’ve said in this space before a couple of my favorite Sunday news talk shows are Reliable Sources on CNN and Media Buzz on Fox. They talk about media coverage from the week’s events. I would think this week they’ll have plenty to talk about especially after Monday’s debacle in reporting from two of the three major 24-hour news stations. Monday I went home for lunch and flipped on the news and found coverage of the lockdown at the Capitol. Switching between the three main all-news coverage outlets I found all three reporting something differe...

  • LAPD: Knife found at O.J. Simpson's home not murder weapon

    Apr 2, 2016

LOS ANGELES (AP) — After nearly a month of testing, Los Angeles police detectives have concluded a knife found at the former estate of O.J. Simpson was not the weapon used to kill Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994. Investigators ruled out the knife after weeks of forensic tests, Police Capt. Andy Neiman said Friday. “We have confirmed, we have determined, there is no nexus,” he said. Police revealed last month they had recently discovered the knife had been in the possession of a retired Los Angeles...

  • Warriors grind it out

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Apr 2, 2016

WORLAND- The Worland Warriors once again grinded out a home victory this time against Cody 3-2 in extra time. The boys would take an early 1-0 lead on a Jacob Lamm goal in the 21st minute. However the Broncos' Blake Hinze would get the match's next two goals at the 26th and 42nd minutes. That didn't deter the Warriors a bit as all match long they were getting great looks at the goal but couldn't capitalize. In the 65th minute though senior Jakob Schaeffer connected with his first goal of the...
