Wind closes section of I-80 to some vehicles LARAMIE (WNE) — High winds, slick pavement and blowing snow prompted the Wyoming Department of Transportation to close more than 100 miles of Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Rawlins to some vehicles. At press time Tuesday evening, the interstate remained closed to light, high-profile vehicles from exits 359 (junction with I-25) and 235 (Walcott Junction) because of “extreme blow-over risk,” according to the WYDOT online travel information tracker. Donna Ann Crawford, 70, daughter of Colonel Robert Bernard Austin and Mary Pauline (Crisp) Austin was born Saturday, June 30, 1951, in Worland Wyoming. She passed away in her home Tuesday, March 29, 2022 north of Glenrock, Wyoming. As a military raised child, Donna traveled the world extensively with her family, living in New Mexico, Virginia, Nevada, Alabama, and Africa. Judith Roberta Bethel passed from this life to her eternal rest on March 27, 2022. She and her twin brother, Jack, were born in Worland, Wyoming on December 16, 1941 to Josephine and James Brown. During WWII, Josephine and her children Judy, Jack, and their older brother Terry lived with their maternal grandmother, Daisy B. Snyder, on the Fairview Dairy farm outside Worland. Ronald "Ron" Wayne Meyer went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 26, 2022, in Billings, Montana, at the age of 75. He was born on August 21, 1946, in Fairbury, Nebraska, to Martin and Louise Meyer. Ron was baptized on September 1, 1946 and confirmed on January 10, 1960. WORLAND — Residents and government agencies alike are adjusting to fuel prices that are nearing $4.50 per gallon for 87 octane unleaded fuel and over $5 for diesel in Washakie County. Most government officials have been able to weather the impact on the budget since the increase started past the midpoint of the fiscal year. Worland City Council June events approved feature Jesus and aviation WORLAND — The Worland City Council approved two events for June during their city council meeting Tuesday. Jo Bowman told the council that the second annual March for Jesus will be on June 4. She said they have been in touch with more churches this year and are expecting to have more marchers. The ceremony was at East Side Elementary School where Charles volunteered. Cody woman bonded out of jail after receiving four new felony charges CODY (WNE) — A Cody woman who was recently found not guilty in a jury trial and is now facing four new felonies was recently bonded out of jail after being in custody for more than a year. Chelsea Velker was assessed a $25,000 unsecured bond by Hot Springs County Judge Bobbi Overfield on March 11. WORLAND - Washakie Medical Center announced the 2021 Employee of the Year right before a luncheon Friday morning. Getting surprised with the announcement was 5.5-year employee Angela Johnson. Johnson began work with Banner Washakie Medical Center as an EVS (environmental services) advocate and after a year she applied and moved up to an EVS lead.
