WORLAND – The first week of October is designated National 4-H Week. In observance, the Roadrunner Club puts together a baby basket for the first baby born in the local hospital that week. Though they don’t always find out who receives this basket, this year, the recipient of the 2008 basket completed her first year of 4-H. WORLAND – As colder temperatures blanket the Big Horn Basin, Worland Fire District Chief Chris Kocher would like residents to think about preparations and safety for winter. “We’ve seen a lot of chimney fires [in the past] but with new technology and more people using pellet stoves, we need to stress carbon monoxide monitoring,” said Kocher. Ople Marie Jorgensen was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2018. Ople was born October 15, 1919 to Emanuel and Leta (Stuck) Lamke on the homestead in Wasta, SD. She was raised on the farm along with her sister and three brothers. Ople attended country school until reaching high school when she moved into Rapid City, SD to complete her schooling.
