  • Stocks close higher, led by health care and tech companies

    May 21, 2016

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks rose on Friday in a modest, but broad rally that erased much of the losses from earlier in the week when investors had sold over fears of rising interest rates. Health care and technology stocks rose the most, helping to nudge the Standard and Poor’s 500 index back to slight gains for the week and year. Nine of the index’s 10 sectors closed higher. Stocks rose from the start of trading, following sizable gains in Europe. Among the winners, Intel climbed nearly 2 percent and Pfizer closed up 1.1 percent. Investors were spo...

Well the filing is in full swing with one week left for potential candidates to file for office and say “I’m willing to serve and try to make the (city, county, state, country) a better place.” Not everyone is cut out for public service or to run for office. The only office I’ve been elected to was the North Big Horn Senior Service District Board and unfortunately due to a move to Laramie I had to resign in mid-term. There was no campaigning that election. There were five seats and five openings. We met twice a year. For someone who never s...

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|May 21, 2016

Casper-It was another beautiful day in Casper for the Wyoming State Track Meet and the competing athletes took advantage to make history. Senior Lady Warrior Bryanna Mickelson finished second in the discus with a school record toss of 128-07. On the way down to Casper Mickelson asked throwing coach Ed Wise what the school's record was and like Babe Ruth called her own shot. "Coach Wise told her what she needed to throw to beat the school record and she said that was her goal for her final meet....

  • WHS JV soccer teams build for the future

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|May 21, 2016

WORLAND- Warriors and Lady Warriors JV soccer coaches Chris Klinghagen and Brianna Schefferly started the soccer season with a rather inexperienced group of players. But by season's end both coaches were impressed with the growth and improvement from their teams. "At the start of the season they were playing recreational soccer but by the end of the season they knew where the defense needed to slide, how to make connections on passing and make crosses the varsity could make. Their soccer IQ has...
