Kenneth Gordon Lobdell went home to the Lord on December 19,2019. He was welcomed by our Dad & what an amazing reunion it had to be!! Ken was born to Richard & Janice Lobdell in Cody, WY October 29, 1958. He was a graduate of Polson, Mt High School and shortly after his graduation he & his family moved to Cody where Ken worked at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center & Northwest Community College on the maintenance crews . Donors pay off school lunch debt CODY — Cody School District nutrition director Gen Sheets was in shock – in a week, multiple anonymous donors wiped clean all of the student meal debt across the district just before the start of Christmas break. Just like that $1,355 was wiped clean. Job deaths up in 2018 CODY (WNE) — The deadly wreck on the Chief Joseph Highway construction project in October 2018 was part of an uptick in occupational fatalities in Wyoming for the year. The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Monday that the number of occupational fatalities in Wyoming rose from 20 in 2017 to 31 in 2018, a 55 percent increase. CASPER — A state investigation released Monday found no evidence linking fracking to contaminated groundwater east of Pavillion, confirming conclusions published in a previous water quality study. The report, conducted by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, concluded pollution in drinking water likely occurred naturally due to the permeable and shallow geology of the area. RIVERTON — A court filing made Friday, Dec. 20 from the University of Wyoming disputes the characterization from former UW President Laurie Nichols’s attorney that suggests an alleged investigation into Nichols’s behavior occurred “directly contrary to the university’s own regulations.” The filing comes in a court dispute over whether those supposed investigatory records, and other documentation related to Nichols’s departure as UW president, constitute public records under Wyoming law. WORLAND – Former Worland man Jason Miller received a sentence of 50 to 100 years imprisonment following a sentencing hearing in the Fifth Judicial District Court in Worland on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Miller, 43, was found guilty of three felonies by a jury of six men and six women on Aug. 27, which included two charges of first degree sexual assault and sexual intrusion of a child under the age of 13 and one count of sexual assault and sexual intrusion of a minor under the age of 18. It is here, Episode IX of the Star Wars Saga. First there was just “Star Wars: The New Hope” aka Episode IV in 1978, and now 41 years later it is “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Episode IX, completing George Lucas’ original vision for “Star Wars.” I have come to the realization as Episode IX approached that I am not as big of a Star Wars fan as I thought.
