    WORLAND – The Big Horn Basin Children’s Summit will take place next Wednesday and Thursday, June 12 and 13 at Worland Middle School. This summit is being hosted by the local Child Protection Team to provide workshops that focus on the understanding of adverse childhood experiences (ACE).     WORLAND - The Washakie County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees honored retiring high school math teacher Duane Riedel with the annual Master Teacher Award. The award was announced Monday, May 27 at the regular board meeting. Riedel was unable to be in attendance due to previously scheduled family obligations.     WORLAND — Over the past three years the Washakie County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees has had to trim the budget and in order to do that have eliminated 17 certified staff positions throughout the district. This year Business Manager Jack Stott said the district cut seven positions each of the past two years through attrition (not filling a vacancy following a resignation or retirement).     On Thursday, May 30, 2019, Robert Bob W. Fawcett, passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 75. Robert was born on January 22, 1944, and was raised in Newcastle, WY in a large family. After meeting his wife, Karen, they moved to Worland, WY in 1974 with their children (Brian, Denise and Bobbie Jo) where he worked the remainder of his career, before retiring to Newcastle, WY.     Keith Edward Noland, 87-year-old longtime Worland resident went to his heavenly home on June 1, 2019. He returned once more to the loving arms of his wife as he passed away in their home surrounded by family. Keith was born on January 11, 1932 in Montour, Idaho to Maurice and Erma (Hendricks) Noland. Growing up in the 30's, like many others of that day, he learned the value of hard work at an early age.     Two killed in rollover near Riverton RIVERTON (WNE) — Two 16-year-olds died June 1 in a rollover crash near Boysen Reservoir. Officials said Braedan Black and Carter Hughes both died at the scene of the incident, which was reported at about 9:10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of West Shoreline Drive and Loop 1 on the west side of Boysen Reservoir.     A $2.5 million pavement improvement project has resumed with about three days of chip sealing on Wyoming 120 between Meeteetse and Thermopolis. Mountain Construction Co., of Lovell is the prime contractor. The chip sealing will take place between mileposts 32 and 38.26 (between Wyoming 431 and the Gooseberry Rest Area) on Wyoming 120.     Sheridan– Black bear hunters are alerted that the spring black bear season in hunt areas 1 and 2 closed at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019. The closed areas are located in the northern Bighorn Mountains.
