He was born on July 29, 1935 to Nellie Worthington and Cecil Wheeler in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Don attended the majority of his schooling in Basin, Wyoming. Irene Mower was born November, 8, 1921 in Baird, Nebraska the third of seven children born to Alexander and Frieda (Sack) Reiber.
