    WORLAND — Since taking over as the head coach of the Worland High School track and field program in 2016 one of Tracey Wiley’s goals was to grow the program. In 2016 Wiley had around 35 athletes, this season Wiley saw those numbers grow with 55 athletes running, jumping or throwing for WHS.     WORLAND — Farms and ranches suffering flood damage may be eligible for assistance under the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) administered by the Washakie-Hot Springs County Farm Service Agency (FSA). For land to be eligible, the natural disaster must create new conservation problems that, if untreated, would: •Be so costly to rehabilitate that Federal assistance is or will be needed to return the land to productive agricultural use •Is unusual and is not the type that would recur frequently in the same area •Affect the productive capacit...

    CASPER — The Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame (WCHF) Board of Directors conducted annual business meetings May 20-21 in Casper and selected the Class of 2017 WCHF honorees The process of selection was begun by committees in 10 geographic regions across the state soon after nominations closed. The WCHF sends each nomination to the county from which it was submitted, where regional honorees are chosen by their respective committees.     JACKSON (AP) — A Wyoming man could be the next U.S. Navy secretary. President Donald Trump on Tuesday nominated Richard Spencer, of Wilson, for the job. The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports Spencer is 63 and served on the Pentagon’s Defense Business Board from 2009 to 2015. He previously was an adviser to the chief of naval operations. He was a pilot in the U.S. Marines from 1976 to 1981. Spencer and his wife have lived south of Wilson full-time since 2009.
