  • Cowboys football happily stealing some of our summer

    Scott Nulph, WyoSports|Jun 8, 2017

I want to dive into summer. Really, I do. There's no question the best time of the year weather-wise in these parts starts in June and runs as long as Mother Nature will allow. Sometimes that's well into September and even October, but sometimes it ends in August. Here's hoping for the longer version of that equation this year. But here's the problem I'm having with diving into summer. The University of Wyoming football program keeps interrupting. Each time I'm ready to put the Cowboys and one...

    Jun 8, 2017

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts medical marijuana dispensary has created a culinary delight for patients who don’t want to smoke their pot or eat it in the form of sweets. Quincy-based Ermont Inc. has been selling cannabis-infused pizza for about three weeks to rave reviews. Director of Operations Seth Yaffe says the company has a whole range of marijuana edibles, but he wanted to offer meals that patients could eat without a lot of sugar. The 6-inch cheese pizzas sell for $38 apiece. The tomato sauce contains 125 milligrams of THC, the...

    Jun 8, 2017

DENVER (AP) — A pot farm’s neighbor can sue them for smells and other nuisances that could harm their property values, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday. The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling revives a lawsuit between a Colorado horse farm and a neighboring marijuana-growing warehouse. The horse farm’s owners, the Reillys, sued in 2015, claiming that the pot-growing warehouse would diminish their land’s value by emitting “noxious odors” and attracting unsavory visitors. A federal district court dismissed the Reillys’ cl...

    Jun 8, 2017

CASPER (AP) — A legislative report says Wyoming’s state school construction funding shortfall could grow to more than $200 million by 2022. More than $2 billion worth of construction and maintenance in Wyoming has been funded over the years through coal lease bonus money. But the coal lease bonus money has been dwindling in recent years, and the Legislative Service Office estimates that it could disappear altogether in a few years. The Casper Star-Tribune reports that the falling bonus money will leave a widening shortfall in its wake. Law...
