CODY - The Worland High School girls swimming team traveled to Cody Thursday night for a dual and the Lady Warriors outswam the Fillies to a score of 174 to 107. Worland's Joyce Desmond won her sixth state title in horseshoes last Sunday in Lovell. Desmond won her first title in 2008, winning five straight. After three years of domination by Newcastle horseshoe pitcher Connie Filley, Desmond won her sixth last weekend in the women's Class A division, the top division for horseshoe tournaments. WORLAND - The nearly 60-year-old light poles at the old Worland High School football field came down Thursday. The lights have not been used for years, with the transformer taken down at least eight years ago, according to Worland Community Center Complex facilities manager Rick Phillips. WORLAND – Public comment is being taken for the Washakie County Annex of the draft for the Regional Hazardous Mitigation Plan. The regional plan includes Washakie, Park, Hot Springs and Big Horn counties, and needs to be updated every five years.
