    Most recent fire affects almost 800 acres WORLAND – A mid-morning Saturday fire, christened the “Chain Fire,” burned approximately 778 acres of Bureau of Land Management land along U.S. Highway 16 east of Worland, before being 100 percent contained Saturday evening by responding agencies.     WORLAND — Former Ten Sleep Mayor Pat Beckley passed away Thursday at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Beckley was 88. He was elected in May 1996, running unopposed for the seat. He took over for Keith Thurman, who had been appointed mayor but did not seek election to the seat. Beckley served through May 2000.     GREYBULL — Medicine Wheel Ranger District firefighters plan to conduct a prescribed burn project in the Mathews Ridge area on Tuesday, July 11. Mathews Ridge is located about 10 miles northeast of Hyattville. If conditions are favorable, fewer than 10 acres of decadent sagebrush will be burned to improve holding lines for the main prescribed burn scheduled in the fall.     Mildred Ellen Roessing, 75, passed away on July 6, 2017 in Spearfish, SD. Midge was born on March 13, 1942 in Springfield, MO to Richard and Nelle (Adams) Looney. She graduated from Worland High School in 1960. Following graduation, she went to work for the State of Wyoming, DFS, retiring after 35 years of service.
