    WORLAND – The Terek fire is about 60 percent contained, burning approximately 44,000 acres. Operations continued throughout Tuesday night focusing on any hot spots along the fire perimeter. Cooler temperatures are expected today with light wind and partly cloudy conditions occurring later in the day over the fire area. These cooler temperatures should help decrease fire activity.     WORLAND – The Washakie Hospital Auxiliary is hosting their 43rd annual ice cream social Thursday evening in front of Banner Health Washakie Medical Center from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Washakie Hospital Auxiliary ice cream social chair Meg Stark stated that there will be 75-80 cakes, 38 gallons of ice cream and carnival like games.   • Testing of emergency sirens Thursday

    WORLAND — Beginning this Thursday at 2 p.m. the outdoor warning sirens in Worland and Ten Sleep will be tested. There are four warning sirens in Worland and one in Ten Sleep. During a test all five are activated at the same time. Warning sirens will continue to be tested every other Thursday at 2 p.m. The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to help by notifying WCSO Dispatch if the siren in your area does not seem to work during the Thursday tests....
