The Washakie County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees approved the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget at the regular monthly meeting Monday. Worland had its first farmers market of the year on July 8, with offerings including a free pancake breakfast and products for sale from local growers and artisans. Dr. Alden LeRoy Curtis, 83, of Worland, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Washakie Medical Center. Alden was the second son of Clayton and Dorothy (Hull) Curtis and was born on May 9, 1940 in Loveland, Colorado. Tyler Boyd Lyman, 50, of Ten Sleep, Wyoming, passed away on June 30, 2023 at the Washakie Medical Center ED from medical complications that began after surgery. Tyler was born on March 26, 1973 to Betty Colt and Dwight Lyman in Worland, Wyoming. He grew up in Ten Sleep where he graduated in 1991. In 2000, Tyler and Neysha Decker began dating. Lawrence Donald "LD" Gilbertz, 66, "Paniolo," rode out of this life on a prized horse on June 27, 2023 in Gillette, Wyoming after succumbing to an unexpected stay in the hospital. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family for many weeks in the Gillette hospital and at the time of his death.
