WORLAND — Emergency and law enforcement agencies were dispatched Thursday afternoon to a report of a bomb threat at Worland High School. A text to parents from the district's alert system, and received by some parents at about 3:51 p.m., stated, “Attention. We have had a bomb threat at the high school. Please steer clear of the high school campus until further notice.” A later text and email notice from the district to parents stated the following, “This afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. we received a report of a written bomb threat at WHS....

CHEYENNE (AP) — The Wyoming House has reversed itself and passed a bill that would raise the state tax on cigarettes by 30 cents a pack. House Bill 151 failed on 38-22 vote on Tuesday but was reconsidered and passed on a 31-28 vote Wednesday. The proposal now goes to the state Senate for debate. WORLAND — The Worland High School speech and debate team competed at the largest tournament in the state last weekend with 40 schools from Wyoming and South Dakota descending upon Natrona County High School in Casper. Coach Rick Dorn said Worland finished in fourth place in Class 3A but second in 3A among Wyoming schools, just behind Riverton. WORLAND - The Washakie County commissioners will hold a joint work session with the Hot Springs County commissioners today at 1 p.m. at the commissioners meeting room in Worland regarding the Wyoming Public Lands Initiative. Private family services for Nancy M. Rayburn, 71, will be held at a later date. Nancy died January 31, 2017 at Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyoming and cremation has taken place. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements. Nancy was born April 22, 1945 in Aspen, Colorado the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Hiscock) Fifield.
