WORLAND - Promising young golfer Karsten Simmons continued his busy summer on Aug. 6-7 in Laramie at the Wyoming State Junior Golf Championship, taking fourth in the tournament. Simmons shot an 80 in the first round and 79 in the second for a total of 159 on the tournament. WORLAND — Shelley Spence won the 2016 Rhubarb Rhevival with her Rhubarb Shortbread Bars Saturday. Judges Doris Kern, Mary Grace Strauch and Boots Snyder sampled a variety of rhubarb products made with Wyoming Sugar. WORLAND – Filing starts today for seven board positions for Washakie County School District No. 1 and Washakie County School District No. 2. Board members Susan Scheuerman, Julie Hann and David Tommerup all have expiring terms and the four-year board positions are open for election for District No. 1. SHERIDAN (AP) — A Wyoming judge has set bond at $150,000 for man charged with fatally shooting his wife while their five young children were in the home. The Sheridan Press reports that the 41-year-old Sheridan man could face 20 years to life in prison if he is convicted of the murder charge. WORLAND - Worland resident and World War II veteran Frank Walling turns 95 years young today and will be celebrating with friends and family from as far away as Oregon and as close from town. “My nephew, niece and friends from Oregon will be here for my birthday,” Walling said. “Quite a few people should be here,” he added.
