CHEYENNE (AP) — Wyoming has not done enough to adopt policies and laws that a national organization favors in fighting cancer, a report by the group says. For example, the state has not raised the tax on cigarettes or created a smoke-free Wyoming, says the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network. In fact, Wyoming meets only one recommendation of nine benchmarks in the report. WORLAND — Sometimes, helping your neighbor knows no border. For Hyattville resident Nancy Jones, what you do locally can make a great difference in the lives of those far away. On Saturday, Aug. 29, Jones and an army of volunteers will meet at the Hyattville Community Center to package and prepare 76,000 meals for impoverished children in Nicaragua. WORLAND – After hosting a larger tournament last week, the Green Hills Golf Course saw a bit of a smaller crowd over the weekend as 50 golfers came out to compete in the Worland City Open on Saturday and Sunday. Donald L. Welton, 91, of Basin, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland. He was born Dec. 4, 1923.
