    POWELL - While the new school year has not officially begun the Worland High School Warriors and Lady Warriors golf teams began their season with the Powell Invitational on August 10-11. Senior Lady Warrior Katelin Scheuerman, coming off a second-place finish at state in 2016, finished a team best ninth overall shooting a 94 and 95.     The Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust (WSGLT) announced last week that Jim Wilson will be the recipient of the 2017 Kurt Bucholz Conservation Award. Wilson lives in Thermopolis where he ranches with his wife Teri. The Wilsons are known for their practical and progressive agricultural practices and management techniques. The couple has led the way in the conservation of the Greater Sage Grouse, elk, deer, and antelope in the Thermopolis area.     DUBOIS — Senator Larry Hicks and Representative Robert McKim, Co-Chairmen of the Joint Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Interim Committee, have announced the Committee will meet Sept. 11-12, starting at 8:30 a.m. both days.     TEN SLEEP – During the August Ten Sleep School Board meeting Monday evening the board heard the bids to remodel the weight room in the basement of the Masonic Lodge and the bids to demolish the two houses on the properties purchased with the intent of creating additional parking for the school.     WORLAND — The 13th annual Pepsi Wyoming State BBQ Championship and Bluegrass Festival has added a brewfest to its celebration. The brewfest, a fundraiser for the festival, has been held on a Thursday in the past with success.     WORLAND — The Washakie County Commissioners approved fire restrictions for the county for the weekend of the solar eclipse and through the solar eclipse. Washakie County Fire Warden Chris Kocher said during Tuesday’s meeting that the reason for the restrictions is to try and not stress fire resources.     WORLAND - Sunday, World War II veteran and longtime Worland resident Harold Fabricius celebrated his 90th birthday feeling strong. "I feel good and get along very well," Fabricius stated.
