It is Tuesday night and we are waiting for results from across the state to come in as the secretary of state and superintendent of public instruction races right now are too close to call. Washakie County had its results printed out for those of waiting in the courthouse just after 8 a.m. I would like to congratulate those who advanced to the general election. WORLAND — With each Worland City Council race receiving write-in votes, the candidates that were on the ballot in Tuesday’s primary election could face opposition in the November general election. It takes three eligible write-in votes for someone to officially be nominated. The person must accept and pay the filing fee to be on the ballot in November. WORLAND — Worland City Council members during their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 16 moved forward with the preliminary phases of a bike trail project at Riverside Rotary Park. Specifically, council members voted unanimously to apply for a grant on behalf of Ten Sleep Nowood Trailbreakers (TNT). TNT President CJ Grimes said the project would include extending a gravel trail at the park. WORLAND - Five local barbecue teams will join 23 others in hopes of winning the 2022 Pepsi Wyoming BBQ Championship this weekend. Pepsi Wyoming BBQ Championship and Bluegrass Festival Committee Chairman Dave Paxton said there are 28 teams signed up to compete this year with 25 the minimum number for the Wyoming BBQ championship to be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). WORLAND - The Worland Warrior golf team opened their season with a second-place finish at the Park County Shootout on Aug. 11-12 at the Powell Golf Club. Eloise Laverne Hansen, 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on August 10, 2022. Eloise was born to Donald and Eloise Evans in Casper, Wyoming on January 6, 1956.
