Worland, Ten Sleep and several area schools began in-school classes this week. Washakie County School District No. 1 postponed the start of East Side Elementary until today (Thursday) due to two staff members testing positive for COVID-19 at the start of the month. Across the state and across the country school districts have had to make tough decisions on whether to have classes online or in person or provide a hybrid. WORLAND – Unofficial results from Tuesday night's primary showed a tightly fought race between Ed Cooper of Ten Sleep and Linda Weeks of Basin for the Republican nomination split by just over 200 votes with Cooper winning at an unofficial total of 2,300 votes (47.6%) to Weeks' 2,084 (43.1%). WORLAND — All Worland municipal candidates will advance to the Nov. 3 general election based on unofficial results from Tuesday’s primary election. Mayor Jim Gill, seeking a second term, received 1,149 of the 1,213 total votes cast. There were 64 write-ins cast. A person needs only three write-in votes to be eligible. WORLAND — In person hearings and bench trials were slated to begin Tuesday for Worland Municipal Court following action by the city council Monday night. CODY — After months of buildup, the policy known as CKA became a rule last Thursday without fanfare. Only two people spoke, both in favor of the rule. Michael Jones Paris passed away on August 15, 2020 in Lacey, Washington with his family beside him. Mike was born in Worland, WY on March 11, to Scott Graham and Harriett Ann (Jones) Paris. CODY - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking information on two white-tailed doe deer that were illegally shot and left to waste north of Cody. North Cody Game Warden Travis Crane said the deer were discovered approximately two miles north of Cody on Highway 120, just south of the Heart Mountain Canal.
