    WORLAND — Citing fears that a new quarter-cent sales tax would “torpedo” other continuing taxes on the ballot this fall in Washakie County, the Washakie County Commission declined to take up a ¼-cent sales tax to help fund the ambulance service. No commissioners moved to put the issue to a vote during the body’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 23.     BUFFALO (WNE) — For the second time in two months, a semitrailer lost control on the way down the mountain on U.S. Highway 16 West and plunged into Mosier Gulch. This time, the driver was killed. Javier Cardoso-Reyes, of Katy, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene after his truck rolled over the guardrail along a stretch of road commonly known as Deadman's Curve.
