WORLAND — A Worland man could face the death penalty for seven federal charges for a double murder last month in Montana. Jesus Yeizon Deniz was originally indicted in the United States District Court for the District of Montana earlier this month. The indictment, however, did not list death as a possible penalty. Worland resident Ida T. Mercado, 81, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on August 22, 2015. Ida was born on November 9, 1933 in Worland, a daughter of Nicolas and Lupe M. Rodriguez. At an early age she moved to Phoenix, AZ and then to San Jose, CA. She later returned to Worland where she had worked at various jobs including the Washakie Cleaners, Worland Laundry, Washakie Hotel and Maggie's Café.
