We have a lot of fun in our office with practical jokes and employees trying to scare other employees but the best tricks are ones that happen without you trying. Case in point one of our coworkers came into the office earlier this week. The first to enter for the day, the place was dark and the light switch is not immediately located inside the door. As the coworker turned to go down the hall he saw something sitting in the hallway, some "critter" with a very short tail. The coworker backed...
RAWLINS — Rawlins City Council plans to keep funds at Bank of the West after a discussion with its branch manager Tuesday evening. The members voted 5-1 to keep an estimated $9 million at the bank, with councilperson Linda Smith not present due to conflict of interest. Smith is a local realtor. Mayor Robert Grauberger, who, on Aug. 21, originally suggested the city move its municipal funds, after the corporation announced to withdraw its own support from oil and gas exploration and tobacco tied companies. Grauberger was the only person in f...
WORLAND — The City of Worland received a “clean” audit report from James Seckman during the annual report at Tuesday’s council meeting. Seckman reviewed the city’s financial records for the fiscal year of July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018. According to the report, the city’s total expenses were $9,995,000, compared to total revenues of $8,783,000 for governmental and business-like activities. The expenses were in excess of revenues largely due to major improvements to streets, water and sewer infrastructure projects. Seckman also highlighted...

Maybe you have had a certain rock catch your eye because has been brightly painted and left on the doorstep of your favorite store, or in a park somewhere. It might have been a trend you noticed but shrugged off, thinking it as some sort of new, weird Pinterest decoration trend (don't worry, I th...
JACKSON — Just six years after releasing its first batch of bourbon, Wyoming Whiskey is poised for a dramatic national and even global expansion through a “strategic partnership” with Edrington, an international premium spirits company. The deal, which is being announced Thursday, aligns the Wyoming brand started by three Jackson Hole residents with the Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes, Cutty Sark and The Famous Grouse scotch whiskeys — all owned by Edrington. “It’s a big thing for a Wyoming company to go global like this,” said David De...
CODY - A week after their thrilling win over the Powell Panthers, the Worland Warrior football team experienced the pain of defeat Friday night in Cody against the Cody Broncs. On the road and playing the defending state champions, execution was going to be critical if the Warriors (1-1) were going to knock off 3A's No. 1-ranked team. Unfortunately, that was not the case for Worland, turnovers and missed opportunities to get the defense off the field led to a 33-8 loss. "We played them tough...
