  • Garbage rate increase proposed

    Marcus Huff, Staff Writer|Sep 10, 2015

WORLAND – Facing a loss of $317,000 in reserve revenue by December without emergency action, the Worland City Council met Tuesday evening to address new tipping fees instituted by the Washakie County Solid Waste Disposal District Board, and the possibility of an emergency ordinance to raise city sanitation fees. “The fact that they [Washakie County Solid Waste] have doubled their revenue needs to be examined,” Mayor Dave Duffy said during the open meeting. Preseason games were filled with empty backfields and shotgun formations that produced a paucity of points and plenty of angst among Broncos fans and fantasy football owners alike. Which Manning shows up Sunday is the subject...

SHERIDAN — Black bear hunters are alerted that Black Bear Hunt Areas 1 and 2 closed on Tuesday, September 8. The closed areas are located in the northern Bighorn Mountains. The black bear hunting season closes for each hunt area or group of hunt areas in the black bear management unit when the female mortality limit has been reached or, on the closing day, whichever comes first. The female quotas are used to ensure that over harvest of female bears does not occur. Hunters should check the black bear regulations for specific hunt area b...
