Nancy Aloise Brubaker Dooley passed away September 7, 2021 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was the first-born daughter of Clifford Lawrence and Mary Margaret (Taylor) Brubaker on July 31, 1937 in Worland, Wyoming. In her youth, Nancy was very active with the Brubaker Sheep Ranch. She enjoyed the work ethic she learned, as well as the time spent with her brothers, sister and parents. She was not the best equestrian, but she was voted Ten Sleep Rodeo Queen as a teenager.... Betty Adell Sisk, 82-year-old Worland resident, passed away September 9, 2021 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana. Betty was born on April 4, 1939 on the family farm in Bristol, South Dakota to Bern't Lars "Ben" and Agnes Oline (Bakken) Solaas. Her family moved to Spearfish, South Dakota in 1953 where she finished her schooling, graduating in 1957. In the early morning hours of September 7, 2021, Chris Alon McEdward passed away peacefully at Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center. Her loving husband Bill was by her side holding her hand when she took her last breath. Chris bravely battled small cell lung cancer for the last 18 months and fought the beast to the bitter end. Chris was born 7/12/1959 in Edmond, OK to Esther (Mitch) Byrley and Ike Mayfield. In the mid 90's, Chris decided to move to Sheridan, WY where her youngest brother live... Full story

Lynda Dale-Franklin (most folks knew her as Lindi or Lynda Ray) was born to Lyda Tolman in October 1952. Lynda passed away in peace and love on September 01, 2021. She was a beacon of light and love for every person who had the opportunity to meet her. Larry Douglas Rogers, 72, passed away at the Washakie Medical Center in Worland on Sept. 9, 2021. Larry was born on Feb. 6, 1949, in Princeton, Kentucky. TEN SLEEP — The Ten Sleep school board interviewed two potential candidates to fill the vacancy left last month by Megan Truman. After interviews the board unanimously approved a motion to appoint Bill Murphy to the vacant seat. Superintendent Jimmy Phelps, in an interview Tuesday, said Murphy was sworn in following the appointment and took part in the rest of the meeting. WORLAND — The Washakie County Fair Board is seeking residents’ opinions on the dates for next year’s fair, as well as entertainment and times for livestock shows. The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) announced today the detection of a rare but serious case of pneumonic plague in a northern Fremont County resident. Plague is a bacterial infection that can be deadly to humans and other mammals, including pets, if not treated promptly with antibiotics. This disease can be transmitted to humans from sick animals or by fleas coming from infected animals; in this case, the person had contact with sick pet cats. TEN SLEEP — Two adult men, one from Sheridan and one from Story, were arrested in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, near Meadowlark Lake east of Ten Sleep. Names have not been released. According to Washakie County Steve Rakness the arrest stemmed from an altercation in the Baby Wagon Area. He said a deputy responded to the altercation.
