The Worland City Council voted unanimously to enter into a contract with Eagle Engineering & Surveying for building official duties. Jeff Mackay had an unusual day of work in May, when he was convinced to go to Sheridan to pick up a van that didn't exist and ended up at the annual Wyoming Trucking Association Convention. On May 12, Zach Richard, a mechanic for Admiral Transport Corporation in Worland, won the 2023 Mechanic of the Year award at the Wyoming Truckers Association's Annual Convention in Sheridan. Our mom's prayer was answered on September 14, 2023 when she passed from this life and her spirit was present with her Lord Jesus Christ. Frieda Kister Scheuerman, age 100, was born December 7, 1922, in Rothflies, East Prussia (which is now Germany) to Anna and Ben Kister. She was born after her parents and older brother escaped from Russia while waiting for a sponsor to enable them to come to America. Mr. Jack James Miller passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 in Casper, Wyoming. Wife, Pamela Ann Miller, passed away April 7, 2023 in Casper, Wyoming. Jack was born October 4, 1942 in Worland, Wyoming to Robert and Arlene Miller. After graduating from Worland High School, Jack worked for the Miller Brother's farms. Josh Keller, the new automotive teacher at Worland High School, had an unconventional beginning as a teacher, but has found success so far with this school year. Two years ago (2021-22 and 2022-23 school years), Josh Keller, who has a lengthy background in automotive work, found himself contracted to work part time at Worland High School for their automotive program for three classes. The Worland High School golf season wrapped up last week at the 3A State tournament at the Green Hills Golf Course in Worland on Sept. 15-16. It was also the final tournament for Worland's three seniors. Lovell's Erika Cook and Parker Paxton won the individual state championships.
