While it is only September and the Nov. 8 general election is more than a month away, the time to be an informed voter is now. While the county and city council races are uncontested, residents still have important races and issues to vote on in the general election this November. CHEYENNE – The unexpected closure of a military-like academy for Wyoming high schoolers in Guernsey drew concern and sadness, sentiments that were universally expressed among all of the stakeholders who reacted to the closure. WORLAND — Worland residents would be allowed to have chickens within the next month if a proposed ordinance passes the city council on its third and final reading. On Tuesday, city council members unanimously passed Ordinance 856 on second reading. Should the ordinance pass its third reading during the council’s Oct. 4 meeting, it would take effect on Oct. 14 and replace the current more restrictive ordinance. Mary Louise Dickson, 79, passed away at her home on September 15th 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born February 6th 1943 to John and Carmen (Ramos) Fabela in Worland Wyoming. She received her education in Worland schools. Mary married Warren Dickson Sr in October 1972 and later divorced. From this union four children were born, Warren, Shawn, Dianna and Tammy. Mary worked many years for Washakie Hotel. Later she worked for many years as a cook at Ranchito Mexican Restaurant.... Full story
J. Terry Iversen, 83, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, September 12th, with his loving family by his side. Preceding him in death were his parents John and Josephine Iversen and his younger sister, Judy Bethel. Terry was born April 5, 1939, in Worland, WY to Josephine and James Brown. During WWII, Josephine and her children (Terry and his younger twin siblings Jack and Judy) lived with their maternal grandmother, Daisy B. Snyder, on the Fairview Dairy farm outside Worland....
