    WORLAND — The nearly 10% drop in population in Washakie County and the 13% drop within the City of Worland has strong financial and legislative implications. According to the Census Bureau, the 2020 census showed Washakie County declining in population by 848 residents, or 9.9%, dropping from 8,533 to 7,685. The majority of the loss, per the Census Bureau was a drop of 714 residents in Worland (13%), dropping from 5,487 in 2010 to 4,773 in 2020.     WORLAND – Washakie County Commissioners met Tuesday morning to discuss several topics, including the architecture for the new ambulance service building. Previously, it was discussed that the county and Cody Regional Health were searching for a large enough building to house the ambulance service.     WORLAND — Shortages in manufacturing has created issues with two bids for the City of Worland. On Sept. 7 the council approved a bid for towable air compressor to be used for blowing out sprinkler systems among other projects. The city received two bids and awarded the bid to Titan Machinery out of Gillettte.     The Census Bureau says Washakie County lost nearly 10% in population and Worland lost 13% in population within the past 10 years, according to 2020 census figures. The City of Worland is looking to appeal the census figures and has the support of the Washakie County commissioners. The mayor and council knew that the population had dropped. There was even concern two years ago that it may drop below 5,000, which is one of the reasons there was a push to annex adjacent subdivisions into the city limits.
