  • Hear me out...'Oh boy'

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Sep 30, 2017

That's right it's time to talk about the crazy underrated early '90s TV show "Quantum Leap", a time traveling show staring Scott Bakula as the protagonist Dr. Sam Beckett. Beckett was a part of a time traveling experiment gone wrong and throughout the show he's trying to get back to his time. But every time he "leaps" he's in someone else's body and has to right a wrong during that time. After each leap, when he realized he wasn't in his body or time, he uttered his catch phrase "Oh boy!" This...

  • Karla's Kolumn: Defending the national anthem

    Sep 30, 2017

It’s about time people started defending the national anthem. I know you’re a bit puzzled by that statement. But not that long ago, in fact right after 9/11, despite all the patriotism across the country, there was a movement to change the national anthem from the “Star Spangled Banner” to “God Bless America.” There was no outcry about the importance of the national anthem or the words to the “Star Spangled Banner.” The outcry was regarding religion and people not wanting God to be a part of the national anthem. They weren’t necessarily defen...

Hunting to resume after Wyoming gains authority over wolves CHEYENNE (AP) — Licensed wolf hunting is set to resume in Wyoming for the first time since 2013 after the state won back the authority to manage the animals. The season opens Sunday and runs through Dec. 31 in 12 trophy game hunt areas in the northwest part of the state. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has set a limit of 44 wolves for the hunt. “We don’t set up a mortality quota necessarily expecting to meet it or thinking we need to meet it,” said Ken Mills, the state’s lead wolf...

    Karla Pomeroy, Editor|Sep 30, 2017

WORLAND — While there were a few hiccups with transportation at the start of the school year, the switch for the Worland elementary schools from neighborhood to grade-level schools has gone relatively smooth. The district hired Pat Hilmer to assist with the transportation transition that went with a switch to grade-level schools. At a recent school board meeting, Superintendent David Nicholas said, “She was born for that job. She’s done really well getting kids around and getting them on the right bus.” He added that there was signage develop...

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Sep 30, 2017

JACKSON - The past three weeks have been tough for the Worland High School football team with losses to Buffalo, No. 2-ranked Green River and No. 1-ranked Star Valley. Friday night at Jackson Hole High School the Warriors took out all their frustrations on the Jackson Broncs to halt their three-game skid The Warriors (2-3) 49-14 victory over the Broncs (0-5) was setup by winning the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Offensively, by controlling the line of scrimmage, the Warriors...
