    Karla Pomeroy, Editor|Oct 1, 2016

Welcome to National Newspaper Week 2016, Oct. 2-8. This year’s theme is “Way to Know!” as a way to promote the role of newspapers as the leading provider of news, whether it be in print, online or in palms via mobile devices. And that’s exactly what our role is as newspapers – to report the news. Not to report rumors, or social media gossip and complaints, but the actual, factual news. Reporting the news means reporting the good, the bad and the ugly. It means reporting on South Side Elementary earning the National Blue Ribbon Award, but it al...

  • Hear me out...Righting the NFL ship as the interim commish

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Oct 1, 2016

I have a lot of love/hate relationships in my life. For example I love America's Got Talent but hate the best talent show in the world because, and here's the dirty secret, true democracy is terrible. In past seasons dogs have beaten out a comedian and this season an above-average singer won over the 14-year-old opera singer who can belt it out like a 20-year opera veteran. True democracy is for the birds. Another love/hate, Netflix's House of Cards, I love the cast, Robin Wright and the rest...

Armajo had mostly livestock projects in 4-H - horses, pigs, sheep and steer. "My mom tried to get me to sew and I didn't. Looking back I wish I would have. So I will try to get my daughter sit with grandma and sew. It [4-H] would have been a great place to learn, but I was too busy with my animals." Armajo said she was in...

  • No.4 Lady Warriors grit out a 3-1 victory over the Lady Outlaws

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Oct 1, 2016

WORLAND - The Rawlins Lady Outlaws pushed the Lady Warriors at home Friday night but Worland dug deep and willed their way to a 3-1 match win. WHS volleyball coach Brittany Miller said Rawlins would be a scrappy team and the Lady Outlaws lived up to that billing as they made Worland work for each point. Players on both teams were diving, stretching and hustling to make a play on each ball all night. In game one the Lady Warriors started out on a 5-0 run then kept the Lady Outlaws at a...
