    WORLAND —American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 President Rebecca Fowler has been honored by the state and nationally for her community service. Fowler was honored with the Groppert Trophy and was a Department of Wyoming level winner for awards presented by the Department of Wyoming Community Service chairman.     WORLAND — Worland residents may see an increase in their sewer and sanitation fees if two ordinances are passed by the Worland City Council. The council passed ordinances No. 828 and 829 on first reading Tuesday night which increase sanitation and sewer fees, respectively. The ordinances must pass two more readings to take effect.     ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania volunteer fire company is using a purple fire truck to raise awareness of domestic violence. The Newburg Fire Company in Logan Township uses the truck in parades and other public events, but it’s no longer used to fight fires. Although many people know October is a month when pink objects call attention to breast cancer, it’s also the month designated to raise awareness of domestic violence.   • Family of missing Casper woman increases reward to $250K

    CASPER (AP) — The family of a Casper woman who has been missing since last October is increasing the reward offered for information leading to her whereabouts to $250,000. The Casper Star-Tribune reports Kristi Richardson’s family gathered to announce the reward during a news conference Tuesday. Her son, Tracy, says “over the past year, not a minute has gone by when we, her children, have not thought about what might have happened to her.” Richardson was reported missing when she didn’t show up to work at Richardson Trucking on Oct. 7, 2014....

    Reverend Wayne Meier, 85, died October 4, 2015 in Thermopolis, WY at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. Born in 1930 in Kansas, he was the son of Harold and Lillie Meier. From 1951-’57 he served in the US Army. In 1954 Wayne married Verla Detmer in Lincoln, Kansas. For a time he was a wheat farmer but heard God’s calling to the ministry. Graduating from seminary in 1965 he served Plymouth and Beatrice, NE, Woodworth, IL, then served his Lutheran congregants 40 years in Thermopolis, WY.
