  • Stocks wilt after FBI inquiry into new Clinton emails

    Oct 29, 2016

NEW YORK (AP) — A midday advance on the stock market wilted in afternoon trading Friday after the FBI notified Congress that it will investigate new emails linked to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The market had started out on a strong note after the government reported that the economy broke out of a slump in the third quarter and grew at the fastest pace in two years. The early climb was led by industrial, energy and technology companies, which would stand to benefit most from a pickup in economy, but the gains d...

  • Karla's Kolumn

    Karla Pomeroy, Editor|Oct 29, 2016

He gives me a look, nods to the darkness outside at 7 a.m. and says “there are kids standing outside in the dark waiting for the bus already.” “I know,” I said. But I remind him that several years ago, some students, I believe from Gillette, approached Sen. Mike Enzi about extending daylight saving time so that children could trick-or-treat while it was still light out, rather in the dark. Wait, what? I thought that was the...

  • Hear me out...It all comes down to this...a coin toss?

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Oct 29, 2016

As random as the postseason can be, it makes seeding very important. Sure, everyone wants to play the best but you also want the path of least resistance. But with parity and strong competition there’s a possibility of ties at the end of the regular season. To break those ties, tiebreakers are put into place, at times they can be confusing, especially when you add more teams to the mix, but for the most part they’re quite strai...
