    WORLAND — City of Worland officials were shocked to learn that the Washakie County Solid Waste Disposal District billed them more than they expected. During its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Worland Mayor Dave Duffy announced that the solid waste district billed the city more than three-times the expected amount. The city expected to be billed about $30 per cubic ton for using the dump. However, the city recently received two invoices for the months of September and October.     CHEYENNE – The final fate of the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin remains up in the air, but one thing is certain: It’s not closing anytime soon. That was made clear Tuesday by the Legislature’s Task Force on Department of Health Facilities.     TEN SLEEP – The Ten Sleep Fish Hatchery will host an open house this Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. so that the public can watch and help hatchery staff sort and prepare 1.2 million rainbow trout eggs for shipment across the United States.     LOVELL — The annual fall roadway closure of U.S. 14A between Lovell and Burgess Junction begins at noon Tuesday, Dec. 1.     WORLAND — A new wave of phone scams has hit the Worland area. According to Washakie County dispatch logs, three Worland businesses received phone calls Monday from people claiming they were from Rocky Mountain Power and that the businesses’ bills were past due. Larsen’s Bicycle, King’s Carpet and the Sunset Inn all received phone calls from the reported scammers Monday afternoon.     Raymond Dale Kohn, age 80, passed away on November 29, 2015 in Sheridan Wyoming. He was born December 2, 1934 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Ray spent the majority of his life living in Southern California and Worland. He also served 4 years in the army 101st Airborne Division. Ray enjoyed the outdoors and especially appreciated the Wyoming badlands, where he spent many days taking long strolls, collecting fossils and target practice.
