Unlike the popular Thanksgiving movie “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” starring John Candy and Steve Martin, my Thanksgiving vacation only featured planes and automobiles, no trains or buses. My husband and my fur kids (just the dogs) left a week before I did, driving down to Arizona to visit his dad and siblings. I was to follow a week later, having booked a one-way ticket from Billings to the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Santana "Sandy" Rodriguez Arellano, 82, of Worland passed away November 27, 2021. Sandy was born July 26, 1939 in Morelos, Coahuila Mexico to Domingo Davila and Damiana Rodriguez Arellano. He grew up in Eagle Pass, TX. Sandy came to Wyoming with both his parents in the year of 1951. They all worked in the agriculture fields of Wyoming. Harold B. Fabricius passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was born to Jacob and Christine (Kramer) Fabricius in Fort Collins, Colorado on August 13, 1927. Harold joined the US Navy in 1945 and was discharged after recuperating from a serious accident which necessitated amputation of his leg. He later moved to Worland to work for the USGS. He met and married Irene Hilda Hergert of Worland. Harold enjoyed fishing & gardening. Both of these pastimes are still enjoyed by his children and grandchildren. Janice Marie "Jan" (Pennock) Martinson, 69, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday November 14, 2021 at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri. Born November 27, 1951 in Cody, Wyoming, Jan was the daughter of the late Russell Clair and Marjorie Lucille (Pitzer) Pennock. WORLAND — Washakie County has seen 40 new active lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days, according to the Wyoming Department of Health on Tuesday. In contrast, Hot Springs County has had only one new lab-confirmed case in the past 14 days, Big Horn County 26 and Park County had the highest in the Big Horn Basin with 75. LOVELL (WNE) — The Christmas tree at Lovell’s Main Street mural park has been vandalized, with every ornament stolen from its bottom half. According to Lovell Patrol Sergeant Jonathan Mueller, it was reported Friday that from the bottom of the Christmas tree to eight feet up, the tree stood bare. “It’s definitely not the end of Christmas,” Parks Manager Gary Emmett said. “But the Grinch stole a part of Christmas.” According to Emmett, whoever took the ornaments ripped them off, often leaving the hooks of the ornaments on the trees. Sporting goods manufacturer to open plant in Cheyenne CHEYENNE (WNE) — Sporting goods manufacturer Wright & McGill, producer of Eagle Claw fishing tackle, announced Tuesday morning it plans to bring a new manufacturing plant to Cheyenne. POWELL - Firearms manufacturers are not able to sell their guns and ammo on the state's Shop Wyoming website - and a Cody lawmaker wants the attorney general to take action against what she sees as illegal discrimination.
