    CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Department of Transportation urges motorists to be extra alert for snowplows that will be out maintaining the roads when there’s ice and snow. Motorists collided with two WYDOT snowplows recently in December during two separate snowstorms. The most recent incident happened on Thursday, Dec. 14, on Interstate 25 about 15 miles north of Cheyenne. The collision caused damage to the box that holds the sand.     SHERIDAN - The Bighorn National Forest is announcing Andrew Johnson as the new forest supervisor, reporting January 21, 2018. Andrew will be following Bill Bass who served as forest supervisor for nearly two decades.     WORLAND – Washakie County Commissioners awarded a contract to Technical Forestery Services of Casper on Tuesday for the county Firewise contract, as outlined by a grant obtained by the county earlier this year.     WORLAND — Plans are underway to establish a Worland High School Hall of Fame. Washakie County School District No. 1 Superintendent David Nicholas told the board of trustees at Monday’s regular meeting that he hoped to have a formal plan to present to them at the January meeting and would be seeking input from each board member throughout the next month.   • Worland man facing felony child abuse charges

    WORLAND – A Worland man is facing felony child abuse charges for allegedly hitting and kicking his two young children. Chance Haux, 33, had his initial appearance in front of Circuit Court Judge Thomas Harrington on Monday afternoon. Court papers say that the charges were initiated by concerns over a black eye on one of the children. Forensic interviews with both children identified several instances of alleged abuse.
