WORLAND -Have you ever wondered after Christmas if you could just leave the lights up year round, or the tree? Well Worland resident Phyllis Parker doesn't wonder, because she leaves her tree up year round as a main corner decoration to her entry room at her home on Airport Road. She said the tree comes in two pieces and it was a chore to carry it upstairs every year. So in 2010 she left it up and her husband Gary said to just leave it up for good, and they have. The tree is not decorated in...
WORLAND – Earlier in December the public was warned about scam artists who were calling people pretending to be Big Horn REA and Rocky Mountain Power employees demanding money for past due electric bills. The same scam has taken a new turn with members of the community receiving calls from scam artists claiming to work for Wyoming Gas demanding money for past due natural gas bills. “A lady was about to send $400 to one of these people and the guy at MoneyGram told her that he thought that she was being scammed. So they contacted us and the nex...
CHEYENNE (AP) — A federal judge has handed the state of Wyoming another setback in its effort to execute a man convicted of killing a Montana woman nearly 30 years ago. U.S. District Judge Alan B. Johnson, of Cheyenne, has barred the state from proceeding with a new death penalty sentencing hearing in state court against Dale Wayne Eaton. Johnson’s order Monday blocks the state from further action until a federal appeals court in Denver rules on Eaton’s pending claims, including that too many years have passed for him to get a fair death penal...

The Panthers led the NFL with 10 players selected for the All-Star game on Tuesday. Newton was picked for the third time, and five of the quarterback’s teammates were first-time selections, including cornerback Josh Norman and linebacker Thomas Davis. “It’s truly an honor to be selected to the Pro Bowl,” Davis said. “All the hard work and dedication I’ve put into the game has paid off....
DENVER - It was the 28th game in an 82-game schedule for the Los Angeles Lakers. But for former University of Wyoming men's basketball star Larry Nance Jr., Tuesday's game against the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center was anything but another game. Nance, the Lakers' 27th overall pick in this summer's NBA Draft, played in his 23rd game and made his eighth start. Nance got off to a fast start, and finished with 10 points and two rebounds in 19 minutes as the Lakers rallied from a 21-point deficit...
