  • UN condemns Israeli settlements as Obama declines to veto

    Dec 24, 2016

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — In a striking rupture with past practice, the United States allowed the U.N. Security Council on Friday to condemn Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem as a “flagrant violation” of international law. In doing so, the outgoing Obama administration brushed aside Donald Trump’s demands that the U.S. exercise its veto and provided a climax to years of icy relations with Israel’s leadership. The decision to abstain from the council’s 14-0 vote is one of the biggest American rebukes of its longstandin...

  • Karla's Kolumn

Dear Santa, I bet you like coming to Wyoming since it’s like coming home with the snow and cold and by the sounds of it you’ll be driving in some snow coming here so stay safe and warm. I’d like to say I’ve been good this year, but let’s be honest, I’m human and well sometimes it’s too tempting to play tricks on co-workers, and I may have gotten impatient a time or two with the dogs and cats. So really, for the most part I’ve been good so I have a few things on my list. I know last year you brought me a Super Bowl championship for the Denver...

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Dec 24, 2016

9 is coming to a close and yearly recaps are all over the place. 2016 was an unusual sports year - the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Cubs become world champions in their respective leagues, Villanova finally moved past the second round all the way to the championship title, NBA legends Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant said goodbye, the Warriors super team, oh, and the Summer Olympics happened. It's was a fun sports year but rather than rehash what everyone else is talking about (Let's be honest...

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Dec 24, 2016

MEETEETSE - The non-conference portion of the basketball season is a good time to get a look at other teams in your class or even play a few tune-up games before the conference season starts. But for Meeteetse High School boys basketball coach Ty Myers, he approaches the non-conference season as a means to play tougher competition often going up a class to ready his team for the conference season. So far in the early season the Longhorns (1-3) have played the Evanston freshmen winning 55-49, 2A...

WORLAND – Every family has traditions that they do every Christmas, but not every family has the same traditions. The way people in the same community celebrate Christmas is as different as night and day. Some of the traditions start well before Christmas day such as the advent calendar. There are many different definitions of the advent calendar but the main gist is that it is a December calendar that has a little door for each day that is opened to reveal an assortment of different things. Some advent calendars have a little gift for each d...

    Dec 24, 2016

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Over the objections of prosecutors, a defense attorney is seeking to delay the trial of a Wyoming man in the slaying of a couple on Montana’s Crow Indian Reservation.
