  • Things I liked in 2018

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Dec 29, 2018

11 is nearly done and why not send it off on a positive note with things I liked from the year. The things I liked in '18 are in no particular order and don't just involve sports. Here we go. Worland High School sports: 2018 has been a good year for the athletes at WHS. Worland soccer had a great year with the boys' team winning their first 3A State title in program history and the girls' team made their third-straight title match. Both Worland basketball teams made the state tournament when...

  • Celebrating the best

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Dec 29, 2018

WORLAND - The Washakie County School District No. 1 has had many talented students graduate and accomplish even more after going through the district, and there have been just as many who have helped build District 1 to what it is today. Gillette-based Cloud Peak Energy’s common stock has been trading below $1 per share at the close of the market for 30 days in a row, prompting a notification on Wednesday that the company had six months to remedy its low stock price or it would be delisted from the NYSE. Cloud Peak operates the Antelope and Cordero Rojo mines in Wyoming and the Spring Creek mine in Mont...

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — State officials say Wyoming’s public school enrollment has stabilized after two consecutive yearly declines. The Casper Star-Tribune reported Thursday the number of students in kindergarten through 12th grade rose 53 this academic year, to just over 93,000. Sheridan County District 1 gained the most, 88, followed by Laramie County District with 81. Sweetwater County District 1 lost the most, 101. Sweetwater Cou...
