She was born on April 15, 1934 in Mittel-Faulbrueck , West Germany, to Herbert Schoelzel and Helene Jelsch. She was one of six children (one son and five daughters). She married John Wilkinson on September 6, 1961, in Germany. They, then move to the United States. Their final home was in Post Falls, Idaho, to where they moved in 2001.
