"We performed where we thought we would. We didn't overperform and we didn't underperform," said HSCHS wrestling coach Travis McDermott. • Eleventh-seeded Cowboys make history, stun archival Colorado State in MW Tournament

    Michael Katz, WyoSports|Mar 5, 2020

LAS VEGAS – Given the location of the tournament, the smart money in Las Vegas was to bet the house on Colorado State. The 11th-seeded University of Wyoming men's basketball team, with just seven wins under its belt the entire season, had found itself on the wrong end of heartbreak all season. Whether it was squandering an eight-point lead with less than two minutes to play against UNLV in January, or seeing a 19-point lead at home to these very same Rams dwindle away less than a month ago, luck...

  • Celebrating the MLB's hypocrisy

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Nov 28, 2019

Hypocrisy can be very entertaining. I know it drives most people mad but if you look at it from a humorous angle, it provides an endless source of enjoyment. Most of us have a little hypocrisies that we carry with us but the best types of hypocrisy are the hulking, albatross types. The ones like how Democrats claim to care about the homeless, how Republicans pretend to care about anyone that makes under 100K or me taking jabs at the NFL's worst franchises even though my Jags have easily been...

  • Concussion concerns hurt football recruiting

Jen Sieve-Hicks, Buffalo Bulletin Via Wyoming News Exchange|Oct 31, 2019

BUFFALO — Typically, after winning a state championship, a coach can look forward to a bump in the number of players who come out for the team the next year. That’s not the case for Buffalo High School football coach Rob Hammond. After winning the 2A state title in 2018, the football team’s numbers are down, a trend that is part of a bigger national trend. High school participation in 11-player tackle football is at its lowest level since 1999-2000 with just over 1 million players, according to the National Federation of High School Assoc...

  • Hear Me Out...NBA-Chinese government beef

    Alex Kuhn, Sports Editor|Oct 24, 2019

First, a revision on my NBA predictions, the Cavs will be the worst team in the NBA. I did not realize they were breaking out horrible new unis that look like a callback to the franchise’s worst days. And because of that, they’re a lock to be the league’s worst team. Now onto the NBA and a geopolitical nightmare. The NBA-Chinese government beef is absolutely fascinating. A quick recap, Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey tweeted out a meme in support of the protesters in Hong Kong just before the league’s trip to China in the preseason, and the Chin...
